Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri to All!
Happy holidays!
oh! how i miss the festive mood of raya, back home.
it's different here. there's no indication at all that we are welcoming syawal after a month of fasting during the holy ramadhan just last month, except that one halal restaurant was closed for the month. the streets remain decorated with corporate banners, pretty ladies-natural born or otherwise, stalls of sorts, chubby dogs, and zooming, vrooming vehicles. no fake ketupats lights, no raya songs playing in the malls, no cookie jars on sales by the dozens, no open house invitations.
life is as usual.
i'm not muslim, just a malaysian, now in krung thep and will be spending her raya in here.
but somehow, i miss the celebrations of the festivities back home.
