It's has been a non-productive day, work wise. Nothing has been, only because nothing is to be done. Yeah, I have nothing in my plate to finish up now. Yippee!
No yippee, actually. This slow-mo has been going on for quite a while now. Approximately about 4 months now. While it allows me to be here, it's not helping my brain develop. I can really feel myself slowing down!
Which brings me to another interesting part. I've decided to make full use of this slow-mo right now to learn as much thai as I can. So far, I've been exposing myself to new phrases each day, thanks to the pretty ladies, one whom is missing today..wonder why.. hmm... Anyhow, yes, it did crossed my selfish mind that since the pace of things here are still relatively slow, why not grab this chance to learn thai. Furthermore, the suay ladies can help be my informal instructors, especially at correcting my terrible intonations.
I've been trying to cast my shyness (as if) with pronouncing new words, especially tonal languages, which is the category which thai falls into, aside. I've managed quite well, I think. A phrase or two a day, and some words. The problem is always remembering what you have learn, and using it. I think my skill in listening and identifying the words in learn in spoken sentences have increased. I still need a lot work on how to use the words and then speaking them. That, I believe, would be level 2.
So, yeah, work-wise, it has been a little of a guilt trip of unproductivity. However, I hope, thai learning wise, I am doing good. After all, I've learned chai yen yen.
