How to be a motivator?
An effective one.
My team, we were given a target of achieving 31 new write ups by end of the year.
The problem was that the target was given like a week back.
That left us with about 2 weeks to juggle and plan around.
The other problem is that we only left with 67.8% of writers from our original pool of writers, where a writer can only come up with an average of 3 on a good week, and 1 on a really bad week.
It is a humongous task and I am well aware it's a dreamy reach to the stars.
But the target was given and we have no choice but to strive towards reaching it.
The huge hurdle now is to get everyone motivated to work harder, faster, and still not comprising the quality of their work.
How can I do that?
So far, I am trying by sharing our performance, daily.
Making things look light yet subtly informing where we are standing and how far away we are from touching the Red Target line.
I hope by knowing, the team will be clear with in their focus and responsibility to respond to the challenge.
What other ways can I help?
I am not really clear on what they are writing about, so providing technical help is out.
The closest I am getting is helping the editor speed up the editing process to that more writings can be churned out daily.
But like Mitchell said, perhaps, he might be just be our saviour.
Just perhaps, if the grey is define by tomorrow!
