Bridge reaffirmed, perhaps this one of the best weeks thus far for me on re-connecting with old friends.
Caught up with a sweet young thing, a friend made during my short stint last year in a school, a few days ago. She had completed her degree and am now waiting for the convocation before starting work. It had been almost a full year, if not more, that we last connected, I don't think that I am wrong to remember it as most likely days before she flew off to continue her studies.
Dialed the telephone and spoke to a dear old friend. Short and sweet conversation, nonetheless, it was full of hope and unspoken kindness. Old ties die hard!
Dialed for another friend too. Wonderful interesting chat. Many years had passed since we last spoke, and many months since our last chat. What an interesting conversation I had with this liberal thinker.
Had planned a breakfast meeting with another dear old friend, and ended up chatting right up to lunch with a mummy-to-be! Didn't regret initiating this date, indeed, learnt, shared and heard much. Wish her a smooth and happy time with bundle of joy, soon.
Tea with a lovely couple proved to be another nice time. Simple conversation, catching up and trading stories while all the while, an eye kept towards how the mummy, who has a multinational mamasan company, efficiently handled their son. Well done, what a lovely, ticklish baby!
Relationships are build over time with effort, not air. Just initiate, push the fear or the unnecessary worry. Most of the time, others would be glad to hear from you. They too, might have just been like you, wondering, wondering. But unlike you, they might still be wondering. Take a step, fear not, for at the worse, you stumble. But the gain is too much to ignore.
So, Thank you, ClaraElena, Pey, Em, Mak & Mummy&Hubby&son, for your time.
